Transaction modal for editing transactions
Harness your editing power: Octav's unique feature for perfecting your transaction details
Perhaps Octav’s greatest feature, the transaction modal, shows you every little detail of a transaction, with the ability to edit it, label it, and even write a note so you remember what it was for. This means you can ensure the accuracy of your portfolio by tweaking details as you see fit. With support for over 30 different transaction types, you have complete control over your data.
Note: for a detailed video guide on Editing transactions, please watch this video.
Click on any transaction to open the modal, and you’ll see a ton of statistics:
Transaction date
Network
From/To
Transaction type
Protocol
Asset in/out
Quantity
Price
Value
Cost basis
Profit (or loss)
You’ll also see several editable boxes:
Asset Price
Asset Quantity
Asset In/Out
Transaction Type
Protocol
Note: Only you can see the changes you make on asset price and quantity - nobody else! (see Privacy and Security section)
Carefully review the editable data and change it if necessary for perfect portfolio accuracy.
Did you make edits, but are unsure about them? Click the 'fetch original suggestion' button on the bottom left of the modal to revert to the default values.
Once you’ve made multiple transaction changes, click the 'Recalculate Transactions' button on the main transaction page to recalculate all of your transactions with their edits. This feature saves you time by updating all your transactions at once.
Here's a quick tip to save you time:
Filter transactions by status 'to be reviewed', then open the transaction modal by clicking on any transaction. From there, you can easily navigate to the next transaction without leaving the modal, and update multiple transactions at once.
You may have noticed that there are two action buttons, one for recalculate transactions and the other one to fetch the latest transactions. Here's the difference:
'Recalculate transaction' lets you update all calculations whenever you make one or more edits.
'Fetch latest transaction' retrieves all of your latest transactions since the last time you refreshed the page.
The ultimate goal on Octav is to have a portfolio that’s fully validated, with nothing but little green icons next to your transactions. Keeping an accurate, up-to-date portfolio, will make reconciling and analyzing your activity much easier.
This is why we’ve made Octav a detailed platform with a user-friendly interface: efficiently manage your portfolio, and make DeFi a breeze.
Happy editing!
Octav handles more than 30 transaction types, see the full list in the 'All transaction types' section.
