Privacy and Security

Fully anon: your secrets are safe with us

We believe in the core values of crypto: of course, decentralization is of maximum importance but so are anonymity and privacy.

Octav is a non-custodial, dox-proof platform. This means that we never collect anyone’s personal information or ask to delegate their wallet to us. This is how we’ve operated securely since the beginning.

Here’s how it works:

  • Simple message signature: to log in, we ask for nothing but basic authentication through your wallet. No way of knowing who you truly are, and no sensitive information displayed!

  • Locally stored information: if you log into multiple wallets on Octav, we do not know. All the information is stored on your device’s local storage. That means your bundles and your logins will be cleared if you reset your browser’s cache. But don’t worry: the edits you’ve made will not be lost.

  • Independently-fetched wallets: Only one wallet’s information is fetched at a time, and they’re considered independent within Octav. Our reports also show addresses as independent, so there’s no way of knowing if any belong to the same person. This means PnL is calculated per address: if you work on tax reporting and need to consolidate transactions from multiple addresses, please keep this in mind and double-check your calculations.

We take privacy and security seriously, always working to make our platform the safest and most anonymous it can be. Use Octav while knowing your information is in good hands.
