Anon-friendly and doxx-proof: Octav's commitment to privacy and security

At Octav, our core values of anonymity and security are super important, which is why we think it's worth taking a moment to explain how our platform works.

First and foremost, Octav is anon-friendly by DNA. We're non-custodial and doxx-proof, which means we never ask users to delegate their wallet to our platform or collect any personal information. This privacy-friendly approach is key to our identity and aligns perfectly with the DeFi spirit. It's also what's allowed us to operate securely since day one.

Here's how it works in practice: When you sign in to Octav, we display data specific to your user wallet. To authenticate your identity, we require a simple, standardized "Sign in with Ethereum" message signature. This ensures that your information stays private and secure.

If you have multiple wallets, don't worry - we store that information locally, on your own device, using your browser's local storage. We never link wallets in our backend, and we can't do it even if we wanted to.

When it comes to fetching wallet information, we always do it one wallet at a time and consider them independent from each other in our system. This helps maintain anonymity and prevent doxxing. Else, it's worth noting that our reports also show addresses independently from each other, which means that profit and losses are calculated per address and may not be optimal. So if you're using our reports for tax purposes, please keep this in mind.

At Octav, we take your privacy and security seriously, and we're always working to make our platform even more anon-friendly and doxx-proof. So feel free to use our tools with confidence, knowing that your information is in good hands!
